The restaurant sector is on the rise, it is a fact. We increasingly like to share moments and experiences while we eat and a clear example of this is the number and variety of restaurants that we find in our environment.

In order to differentiate themselves from the competition, restaurants are betting on interior designs that manage to surprise diners and generate a sense of wellbeing and comfort. However, sometimes this is not enough

How can we surprise customers on a regular basis?

This question is directly connected to the request for a mobile restaurant, which was made to our students to completely redesign the interior of a restaurant, located in the most populous district of Granada, we are talking about the Zaidín.

Inés Manzano, 4th year student in the Official Degree in Interior Design, proposed as an answer to this question the design of an interior with mobile and interchangeable parts.

How did she do it?

Starting from another requirement: to create a design that could be franchised. Inés structured the kitchen, bar and terrace on shipping containers, giving them the ability to be transported by truck if necessary, thus enjoying the experience anywhere.

The possibilities are not only these, but it is also possible to interchange them between several locations, changing the utensils and adapting to different types of cuisine such as Mexican, traditional, Japanese, depending on the specialization of the restaurant.

This approach allowed Inés to meet the needs requested in the restaurant's order, giving her flexibility as well as the ability to innovate periodically. A clear example of user-centered design.
