Do we design to obsolesce or to endure? Why do some objects become eternal companions of our lives, while others are forgotten in a corner of the attic?

Unfortunately, design is an activity that instead of being governed by humanistic criteria, tends to follow the implacable logic of profit, generating banal, ephemeral products. With this in mind, the objective of this project was to bring emotional value to my designs, with the intention of generating perpetual objects.

DESK COLLECTION IN COLLABORATION WITH HENDER SCHEME

To achieve this goal, the fulcrum was Hender Scheme, a Japanese fashion accessories brand that defies the trend of ephemerality with its handcrafted designs. Its philosophy focuses on the improvement of its products over time, which is possible thanks to the use of leather as the main material. A brand that generates commercial products not as an objective, but as a consequence of making good products.

Following this narrative, Clip is born, a line of desktop products aimed at those who enjoy reading with care, which turns an object used to being in the background into the protagonist of the story. Clip, designed to create an intimate atmosphere between reader and book, consists of an adjustable and wireless light diffuser that makes "pinching" the switch of the product; a reading stand that also acts as a bookmark and a nice storage tray.

"The future is not built on conformity, it is built on disruption and the courage to question the established." In a world where transience reigns, Clip chooses to be design that lasts.
