Mariano Fortuny Madrazo was a painter, engraver, designer and set designer. He was born in Granada in 1871 but spent much of his life in Venice. He began to use artificial light in his photographic, theatrical and art gallery settings. As an engraver, he made illustrations of Wagnerian and Shakespearean themes and landscapes of Granada.

In his work as a fashion designer, he fused stylistic values inspired by ancient cultures (Greece, Rome, Persian art, Hispano-Muslim art, Africa, South America, Japanese art, art nouveau...) with new technical procedures and traditional artisan methods; from which Alba Guerrero has drawn inspiration for the elaboration of her project.

Finally, this is the final image of the project. It is a pyramidal geometric composition to highlight the body pose and the clothes, since her character was a fashion designer. Alba used conic curves and polygons. Finally, she added the design of the Fortuny lamp as she was inspired by the Alhambra to do so.
