Nike React Wukong: Cultura China, Diseño y Alto Rendimiento.

In the last year of the Official Degree in Product Design, our students carry out projects with completely free requirements. Thanks to this, each student can focus on a topic that most motivates him, as was the case of Fran Molina.

The only restriction offered by the faculty was the link with the tourism sector and Fran, a lover of running in his spare time, decided to contextualize the project with a collaboration between Nike and the extreme race 'Great Wall Marathon', within the adventure tourism.

Fran tells us that it has been one of the projects he has enjoyed the most thanks to the process he has followed: 'this process has allowed me to experiment a lot in materials and manufacturing, to get a prototype that conveys the values of Nike.'

This shoe is focused on the public that participates in this type of tests, known as 'Thrill Seeker', they are characterized by passion and enthusiasm in activities that provoke strong emotions in them. While the trend that has been followed is the current line of design that Nike uses in its 'Nike React' sneakers, the aesthetic and color adaptation is based on Chinese architecture and culture.

Finally, in the ideation phase, more than 150 designs and 40 different types of soles were considered until the final result was achieved with 3D modeling. Modeling has been done in Autodesk's Alias AutoStudio 2018, one of the most used software in the industrial sector for the work and design of surfaces.
