ESADA joins the jury of the 20th edition of Cosentino Design Challenge

Design is also learned when it moves beyond the classroom and connects with the professional world. For this reason, at ESADA we would like to thank Cosentino for the opportunity to be part of the jury of the 20th edition of Cosentino Design Challenge, one of the most important international competitions for students of architecture and design.

This special edition, held to mark the 20th anniversary of the competition, brought the jury together at Cosentino City Almería. ESADA was represented by José Antonio González, alongside professionals and representatives from other schools linked to the competition.
Cosentino Design Challenge is an initiative that connects students from all over the world with real challenges in research, creativity and design. In its 20th edition, the competition received 356 projects from schools and universities across Europe, America and Asia, divided into the categories of Architecture and Design.
From ESADA, we would like to congratulate all the winning projects and honourable mentions of this edition, as well as all the students who took part, for their effort, critical thinking and ability to propose solutions through design.

In the Architecture category, under the theme “Spaces for the Media”, the winning projects were THE SLATE, from American University in Dubai; SYNAPSE, from Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid; and MONOLIGHT, also from American University in Dubai.
In the Design category, focused on “Furniture to Promote Wellbeing”, the awarded projects were ARIA, from Universidad del Desarrollo in Santiago de Chile; THERMAL OASIS, from Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid; and BETWEEN US, from Università IUAV di Venezia.
For ESADA, taking part in initiatives such as Cosentino Design Challenge is a way to continue bringing design education closer to the business sector, material innovation and the current debates of the profession. It is also an opportunity for our students to see how design expands beyond the classroom: through competitions, companies, institutions and international contexts.

Thank you once again to Cosentino and Cosentino Design Challenge for inviting ESADA to be part of this edition. And congratulations to all the winners.
