Bontur Bellator

One of the main differences of studying at ESADA is the methodology we use. The Project Based Learning or PBL, aims that our students are able to carry out projects from the first moment. In these projects there are subjects with more presence that initiate and mark the starting point for the development of the same, as is the case with "Art History and Aesthetics".

For this project based on the Renaissance, Daniel has taken as main reference to Queen Elizabeth I of England and her family, specifically her parents: Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII of the Tudor house.

Bontur Bellator is the name used for this collection. Bontur comes from the combination of the surnames Boleyn and Tudor and Bellator from Latin, 'warrior'.

Dani tells us that her intention has been to 'combine the strong, victorious and divine personality of a royal woman, with the rigidity and strength of a warlike armor.'

'This collection aims to highlight the female figure' so in the selected look have been using tight bodices, square neckline and giving volume in the hips.

The use of heavy materials and fabrics, such as metallic-looking leatherette, to simulate armor, has been fundamental in its manufacture. The colors used in the collection range from crimson red to various shades of blue, thanks to the connotations that these colors have with the environment of performance and power.

In addition to the complete set, Daniel developed a series of complements and accessories for the photograph, with direct links to the realizes as the Tudor Flower or the filigree of the armor.

The result of this great work has been the editorial photographs that were made in the school's own photography classroom. A professional result in all aspects.
