My Erasmus+ Mobility for studies at ESADA: Ewa Meczkowska, VIAMODA

Ewa Meczkowska, Fashion Design student at VIAMODA (Poland)
Erasmus+ Mobility for studies at ESADA from September 2025 to January 2026.
My name is Ewa, and I began my Erasmus adventure in Warsaw, Poland. I arrived in Granada on September 14th to fully experience a new lifestyle and culture. From the very first moments, the city welcomed me with open arms - warm climate, beautiful architecture, and incredibly friendly people.
At first, I was a little nervous, which is completely natural when facing such a big change. However, I quickly realized that my worries were unnecessary. From the very first day at ESADA, I knew that this adventure would not only be easier than I expected but also extremely enjoyable and inspiring.

This would not have been possible without my wonderful friends from different countries, who from the beginning createda very supportive atmosphere, as well as the amazing Felix. Calling him merely the Erasmus coordinator at ESADA would be a huge understatement - for me, he became more than that: a mentor, a support in new situations, and above all, a true friend. The entire Erasmus group was incredibly close-knit, open, and full of energy. The time we spent together, conversations, trips, and daily moments created a unique bond. These are the people I will miss the most.
The school itself also surprised me greatly. I noticed a completely different approach to creativity, fashion, and design. The creative process was freer, more experimental, and focused on individual interpretation. This experience allowed me to broaden my horizons and look at my own projects from a fresh perspective.

It would be hard for me to say which approach to learning and designing suits me better. At Viamoda Szkoła Wyższa, we work on many smaller projects, which allows for continuous experimentation and skill development. At ESADA, the focus on one large project provides space for in-depth analysis and refining every detail. I find both models extremely valuable, and I am very happy that during my studies I could experience a taste of each.

The city of Granada is a charming reflection of history, community, and freedom. It is peaceful, not overstimulating, and its beauty and culture are captivating at every turn. I will always remember my walks through Granada and I am certain I will return. Often, I would get off a few stops earlier before classes when I had some free time - grabbing a coffee along the way and taking a longer route, enjoying the city's atmosphere and discovering its hidden corners. As an optional subject (optativa), we had the opportunity to attend Spanish language classes twice a week for two hours each. These lessons taught me a lot - before this trip, my exposure to Spanish was limited to a short, 15-lesson summer course. Now, I can confidently say that I understand a lot and can even communicate on a basic level.I plan to continue studying Spanish in Poland to further improve my skills and deepen my knowledge of the language.

In summary, this was an extraordinary adventure that I will remember fondly and regard as a very important part of my studies. I highly recommend it to anyone who has even briefly considered participating inthe Erasmus program — it is truly worth experiencing and allows you to fully embrace a unique and enrichingjourney. THANK YOU ESADA!!
